The Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA) announces the 2026 competition for the election of Associate Members and Foreign Members. The competition is conducted in accordance with the Charter of NAS RA approved by Decision No. 870-N of the Government of the Republic of Armenia on 18 June 2026 and the "Rules for Organizing the 2026 Election Competition for Members of NAS RA" approved by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.

The competition shall be conducted on the basis of the list of vacant positions by scientific discipline approved by the Presidium of NAS RA.

Nomination of Candidates

Candidates for Associate Membership may be nominated by Full and Corresponding Members of NAS RA in the relevant scientific field, as well as by scientific organizations and higher education institutions of the Republic of Armenia, in accordance with the established Rules.
Candidates for Foreign Membership shall be nominated by the Scientific Divisions of NAS RA in compliance with the established procedure.

Submission of Documents

The documents to be submitted, evaluation criteria, assessment procedure, stages and timetable are defined in the attached Rules.

In addition to the documents required in the Rules, applicants shall submit the following:

• The candidate's contact details (telephone number and e-mail address);
• Copy of the passport or ID card;
• One colour photograph (3×4 cm);
• Copy(ies) of higher education diploma(s);
• Copy(ies) of documents certifying the academic degree and/or academic title.

Documents may be submitted either in paper or electronic form.
When submitted in paper form, the originals shall also be presented for verification of the copies. Only copies shall remain in the file.

When submitted electronically, scanned copies of the documents shall be provided.

Applications will be accepted from 8 July through 7 August 2026, inclusive.
